
Richie CHAN | 陈 立起
Designer, writer, teacher. Born 1984. Currently helping people to tell their stories and uncover the essence of things.
Through design, narratives, storytelling, curation, and interdisciplinary teaching, he aims to shape how we understand, experience, and engage with design and the world. His work is grounded in a holistic, introspective, and reflective approach that seeks to bring clarity to complex ideas.
Currently, he is working on two publication projects, set to launch later this year. He also teaches Interdisciplinary Design Innovation at the Singapore Institute of Technology. In 2024, during Singapore Design Week, he collaborated with a café, sustainability startup, and students, to create an installation showcase for Re-Route: Orchard Fest, a project calling on designers to reimagine Orchard Road under the theme, ‘Be Here Now’.
His background spans architecture, user experience design, media and publishing, business information technology, and digital marketing. He’s held leadership roles such as managing editor and art director in Thailand, and creative director in Myanmar, which have shaped his interdisciplinary approach and understanding of design beyond the conventional.
